What are the Benefits of a Lightweight Folding Bike

If you’re on the lookout for a new bike to purchase, why not go with a lightweight folding bike. These are much lighter than regular bikes, and they fold. Those 2 key features offer several unique benefits:

  1. You won’t have to leave it at a parking lot. Leaving your bike unattended just makes them rather an attractive target for thieves. But instead, you can fold it and carry it to your office. Along the way, you won’t have to inconvenience other people with a large bike blocking the hallways. You can keep it right under your desk, and you can work with the absolute assurance no one’s going to just ride away with it.
  2. When you don’t want to bike anymore when you’re on the road, it’s no big deal. Let’s say you’re biking, and then it rains. Now what? If you have a regular bike you better have a friend with an SUV that can fit in your bike when they fetch you. You’ll have trouble catching a ride in a taxi or a train with a regular bike. Those things are bulky and not easy to carry around.

With a lightweight folding bike, it’s not a problem. Just fold it and take a taxi or the train back to your flat. You can do this for any reason, such as if you get tired or hungry. Just fold it, grab a cab, and Bob’s your uncle.

  1. Carrying it to your flat isn’t a problem either. Again, even if you live in the upper floors all you really need to do is to fold this and carry it with you on the way to your flat. It’s a problem with bigger bikes, which can be a pain to carry while climbing the stairs and which may not fit in the lift.
  2. When you’re storing this at home, it doesn’t need a lot of space either. You won’t have to put in in a large garage, unlike with a regular bike. Some people even invest in those fancy setups with bikes hanging from walls. With a folding bike, you can just find an empty cupboard or wardrobe.
  3. Folding bikes aren’t complicated at all. It may only seem so at first, but folding a bike can become second nature after a bit of practice.
  4. When you want to sell them, they don’t lose a lot of value. The price of a second-hand lightweight folding bike is awfully close to the price of a brand new one. So even when you sell it eventually, it’s not as you’re selling at a huge loss. Of course, with the money, you get you may want to get a brand new (and even better) lightweight folding bike.

We haven’t even yet mentioned the other advantages of bikes in general. These are affordable modes of transportation, they’re fun, they can offer exercise, and they don’t pollute the atmosphere. It makes sense to buy a bike to get around the neighbourhood. Just try a lightweight folding bike instead so your life is much easier.
